OVERVIEW

Design Museum Everywhere is a nomadic museum dedicated to making design accessible and available to everyone. As an education programs apprentice, I assisted in running virtual education programs for high schoolers, created educational materials, and wrote articles about our work.

DESIGN TOGETHER

Design Togethers were at-home activities for teens and kids to learn about different design disciplines. I helped make design togethers on conducting empathy interviews, designing floor plans, and orthographic projection.

SUMMER DESIGN PROJECT

In the summer of 2021, we ran a virtual summer program for Cambridge high schoolers on community-based design. We used Milanote and google meet as our main tools. You can read how it went in this recap article or learn more about how we used milanote in this MIT media lab blog post.

Below are some snapshots from our virtual activities:

WRITING AN ARTICLE FOR DESIGN MUSEUM MAGAZINE

Towards the end of my internship at the museum, I collaborated with Josh Kery, the other education programs intern, to write an article about design in education and the importance of community. We interviewed people who are working to change the education system in different areas and researched various design practices. It was first released as a blog post and later published in the Design Museum Magazine: The Education Issue.

You can read the article in its blog format here.
